My full name is Melanie but I go by Mel. I was born and raised on a family farm in Ashton, Idaho. Through my family I learned valuable lessons of being resourceful, being independent, and learning that with a little hard work and a whole lot of love you can achieve anything you want.

I went to Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho and graduated with an RN, BSN. I have been a nurse since 2001. I currently work at Shoshone Family Medical Center as Clinical Lead/Case Manager RN after 12 years of doing home health nursing.  I love the people that I get to help on a daily basis.

While in college, I met the love of my life and we married after I graduated college. We finished out his schooling as a veterinarian before we settled in Gooding. We have been blessed with two wonderful boys. When they were little I worked part-time and became a stay at home mom with some "hobbies". But I decided that my creative needs were not being fulfilled. That is where soaping and gardening came in. Now that the boys are bigger ,they are a tremendous help with the soap company and they occasionally attend shows with me.

I also enjoy baking, knitting, crocheting, camping, horseback riding and doing anything with my family.

I want to stay true to my Idaho and agriculture roots, so I try to get my main supplies from here in Gooding and in general, Idaho. Then I start branching out with what else the USA and the world can provide. It is absolutely amazing what you can use if you just look.
